Xerocon NZ Award Nominations 2013

Today (Friday 17th January 2014) is closing day for the highly sort after Xero Awards for the 2013 year.

The awards celebrate the success of high achieving partners and presented at the Xero Awards Dinner currently in New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom and the United States. The New Zealand Xerocon will be held on February 20 & 21, 2014 in Auckland with the awards dinner on Friday 21st.

This year so I’m told the awards will be judged externally and anyone can nominate an Add-on, Industry, Accounting or Bookkeeping Partner for an award.

Accounting Partner of the Year

This award recognises the Xero accounting partner who uses Xero to offer the best service to their clients over the past

12 months (January - December 2013).

Criteria

• Number of staff who are Xero-certified? How many as a percentage of your total staff?

• How do you use Practice Studio tools to provide value for your client?

• Commitment to raising awareness on the benefits of the cloud. Client events, use of co-op fund, optimised website and client offerings.

• Advocacy of cloud to the small business community. Things like publications, speaking engagements, hosting events.

• Innovation in client services to improve business performance. How does this service set you apart from your competitors?

• Examples of how you acquire and retain clients.

Entrants should provide:

A maximum half page document supporting why they should win, taking into account the above criteria.

Bookkeeping Partner of the Year

This award is designed to recognise the Xero bookkeeping partner who uses Xero to offer the best service to their clients over

the last 12 months (January - December 2013).

Criteria

• Number of staff who are Xero-certified? How many as a percentage of your total staff?

• How do you use Practice Studio tools to provide value for your client?

• Commitment to raising awareness on the benefits of the cloud. Client events, use of co-op fund, optimised website and client offerings.

National Practice of the Year

A new award for 2013.

This is awarded to a firm that has a national presence. This firm demonstrates how it has added significant value to its clients in multiple regions across the country.

Criteria

• Evidence of how you are a national practice -- how far around the country are you spread? Do you have offices all over the country or clients all over the country?

• Evidence of how your services have been fundamental in helping clients to achieve their business goals.

• Number of staff who are Xero-certified. How many is this as a proportion?

• How do you use Practice Studio tools to improve your service offering?

• Commitment to raising awareness on the benefits of the cloud. Client events, use of co-op fund, optimised website and client offerings.

• How do you advocate the cloud to the small business community?

• How have you innovated your services? How have you made your service offering better than your compeditor’s service offering?

• Give some examples of how you’ve acquired and retained clients.

Entrants should provide:

A maximum half page document supporting why they should win, taking into account the above criteria.

Add–on Partner of the Year

The winning add-on partner will have demonstrated a high-level of customer satisfaction and commercial success. We’ll

also look for continuous improvement in areas like customer care, design, quality, functionality and technical innovation.

Criteria

• Be commercially available (no Beta versions)

• Have verifiable users on both Xero and your product (orgs connected)

• Be over two years old

• Technical: design, integration to the API & Xero products

• Ease of doing business, customer feedback, customer advocacy

• Connections with Xero’s accounting and bookkeeping communities

• Evidence of customers using the product successfully to improve their operations and demonstrating that they would recommend the product to others.

Entrants should provide:

A maximum half page document supporting why they should win, taking into account the above criteria.

Emerging Add-on Partner of the Year

Presented to the emerging add-on partner who demonstrates a high-level of customer satisfaction and commercial success.

We will look for excellence in areas such as customer care, design quality, functionality and technical innovation.

Qualifying criteria: Integrated with the Xero API for less than one year on 21 February 2014 (Award presentation date).

Criteria

• Be commercially available (no Beta versions)

• Have customers who use both Xero and your product -- and have connected your product with Xero

• Technical excellence, both in your product and in its integration with the Xero API

• Business excellence: easy to work with, great customer feedback, customer advocacy

• Demonstrated interaction with Xero’s accounting and bookkeeping channel.

Entrants should provide:

A maximum half page document supporting why they should win, taking into account the above criteria.

Xero Industry Partner of the Year

New award for 2013.

This award is open to all Xero industry partners (banks, telcos, channel partners like CPA Australia and NZICA, etc).

Criteria

• How have you substantially benefitted customer/member organisations by introducing new ways of working?

• Can you demonstrate a high level of customer satisfaction and commercial success?

• What is a service offering or campaign that has added significant value to your customers?

• Is there any other aspect (customer care, etc) of your organisation that adds clear value to your customers/members?

Entrants should provide:

A maximum half page document supporting why they should win, taking into account the above criteria.

Marketing Innovation Award

The Xero Marketing Innovation Award is to celebrate smart, innovative marketing approaches.

Criteria

• Website with clear offering and value proposition outlined (including Xero page)

• Unique services that set your firm apart from competitors

• Evidence of strategic thinking behind service offering and business model

• Use of Xero partner banners

• Use of client events to promote your services

• Offering that is different from competitors, not just in quality but in innovative approach

• Use of co-op fund (if Gold).

Entrants should provide:

A maximum half page document supporting why they should win, taking into account the above criteria

100% Cloud Award

The 100% Cloud Award is to celebrate partners working 100% in the cloud.

Criteria

• Silver partner and above

• Must run their practice 100% on Xero and Practice Studio tools

• How have you cut costs and boosted productivity by integrating your systems?

• Which add-ons do you use? How do you use them?

Entrants should provide:

A maximum half page document supporting why they should win, taking into account the above criteria.

Xero MVP Award

Chosen by the Xero team, the winner is someone who they believe has had most impact on the accountancy profession over the last 12 months. Usually - though not necessarily - an accountant, the winner is likely to have impacted on the working lives of accountants over the course of the year. The winner will have shown evidence of leadership, determination and clarity of thought.

This award is not open to entry.
